Microsoft 365

With a single Microsoft sign-in anymize reaches Outlook, Calendar, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, OneNote, To Do and Contacts without clear names going to an AI model.

The nine services

Microsoft 365 in anymize is one connection with nine cards. One sign-in, then you decide per service whether the assistant may use it.

ServiceWhat the assistant can do with it
OutlookSearch the whole mailbox, read mail, send with your approval, move messages to Archive, fetch attachments into your storage.
Outlook CalendarRead events in a time range and, with your approval, create a new event.
OneDriveSearch and read files, create a new Word document or presentation, append something to an existing Word document.
SharePointFind and read files in all sites and document libraries. Read only.
Microsoft TeamsRead chats, channels and messages. Read only.
ExcelRead workbooks, create a new formatted workbook, append rows to an existing one.
OneNoteRead notebooks, sections and pages. Read only.
Microsoft To DoRead task lists. Read only.
Outlook ContactsSearch and read contacts. Read only.

One login for everything

For the whole suite there is exactly one Microsoft sign-in. You sign in to Microsoft once; we never get your password, only a key you can revoke anytime.

  1. 01In the left sidebar open Apps and then the Connectors area.
  2. 02Find the Microsoft 365 tile. With "Connect all apps" you take the whole suite, or you click only a single card, for example Outlook.
  3. 03You land on the Microsoft sign-in page. It shows what anymize may access.
  4. 04Confirm, back in anymize. Connected cards now sit at the top under "Connected".
  5. 05You add further services later with one click. Rights already granted stay in place.

Multiple Microsoft accounts are possible. Via "Add account" you connect a second one; in chat you then say which is meant.

Does our IT have to approve first?

That depends on your Microsoft settings. Many organizations do not let people decide themselves which app may access mailbox and files. Then sign-in stops with the notice that an admin must consent.

  • In that case anymize shows you a "Approve now as admin" button. An admin from your organization signs in with it once and approves anymize for everyone.
  • Is your IT external? There is a link to copy that you can forward. IT does not need an anymize account for that.
  • After the one-time approval, everyone on the team connects without further prompts.

Some organizations also enable apps only for certain people. If sign-in says you are not assigned, only your IT can change that.

Can I turn off individual areas?

Yes. Each card has under Manage an Access section with a switch per area. If an area is off, the related tools do not exist for the assistant.

  1. 01Go to Apps, then Connectors, and click Manage on the card.
  2. 02In the Access section you switch areas like Email, Calendar, Files, Teams or Tasks on and off individually.
  3. 03Under Settings you also find your email signature and the switch for whether sent mail lands in Outlook's Sent folder.

In a team an admin can set in the Governance Center which connectors are allowed at all. That sits above the personal setting.

What does the AI model see of my Microsoft data?

Placeholders only. If you ask about a mail or a file, a shielded research assistant in the EU fetches the real content and writes a short summary from it. That summary runs through anonymization before the large model gets it: names, addresses, case numbers and account numbers become placeholders.

The research assistant gets read tools only, fixed in program code and not merely as a request in the prompt. A mail with a hidden instruction therefore cannot make it send or move anything.

What the assistant may create

In Microsoft 365 there are exactly eight actions with effect. Each shows you an approval card in chat first with the finished content. You read, correct in the card if needed, tick the box and confirm. Only then does something happen.

ActionWhere
Send emailOutlook
Move emails to a standard folderOutlook
Save attachment to anymize storageOutlook
Create eventOutlook Calendar
Create Word documentOneDrive
Append to a Word documentOneDrive
Create a PowerPoint presentationOneDrive
Create Excel workbook and append rowsExcel

If you click Cancel, nothing happened. For SharePoint, Teams, OneNote, To Do and Contacts there is no write action at all; there the assistant can only read.
