DocumentationFirst steps

Your first ten minutes

First question, first file, short tour: find your way around anymize without setting anything up first.

4 Min

Upload and anonymize a file: the document sits as a card in the chat, ready for the first question.

The first chat

After you sign in you land in an empty chat. Just start writing, the way you would explain something to a colleague. Enter sends, Shift and Enter inserts a line break.

You do not have to pick a model. anymize chooses one that fits your question and shows you at the top which one is answering. If you need a specific model, switch it in the model picker next to the input field.

You can start a new chat at any time. Each chat is its own thread of thought, which keeps the answers sharp.

Add a file

Next to the input field is the upload button. anymize reads PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images and plain text files directly.

  1. 01Select a file or drop it into the chat.
  2. 02Decide whether it should be anonymized. For anything that contains names, addresses or contract data, that is the right choice.
  3. 03Write a question about it, for example: Summarize the notice periods.
  4. 04Read the answer. It refers to the file content, not the file name.

A single document for a single analysis belongs in the chat. Everything you need again and again is better kept in a knowledge base.

The short tour

On your first visit anymize offers a tour. It has four steps and takes less than a minute.

StepWhat it covers
Just start askingThe input field, Enter sends, anymize picks the model.
Add documentsUpload, normal or anonymized; the AI answers about the content.
Mask first, then sendThe “Anonymize” switch: you see real names, the AI only sees placeholders.
Where everything livesThe sidebar with chats, projects, knowledge bases and apps.

“Later” is available in every step. The tour does not block anything and does not push itself on you.

Where everything lives

The sidebar on the left is your map. Four areas are enough to start.

AreaWhat it is for
ChatsAll conversations, sorted by date and searchable.
ProjectsA folder for a case or a topic. Instructions apply to every chat inside it.
Knowledge basesDocuments you want to switch on permanently.
AppsTools for anonymizing, de-anonymizing and for meetings.

At the very bottom left you see your credits. They are billed per request, at different rates depending on the model.

If something gets stuck

  • No answer? Check whether you still have credits left, and try a different model.
  • File is not being read? Very large PDFs take a moment. Scanned pages without a text layer are recognized with OCR, which takes longer.
  • Answer misses the point? Say who it is for and how long it should be. That helps more than switching models.

If you cannot get further, support is available through the contact path in your account. Send the chat URL along so nobody has to guess.
