Anonymize documents

Not every task is a chat. Sometimes you only need a version of a brief, an expert opinion or a personnel file without names, addresses and case numbers, for example to pass it on externally or copy it into another tool. That is exactly what the Documents page under Apps is for.

Every file you upload or record there is anonymized automatically: sensitive details are replaced by placeholders. The mapping from placeholder to original stays in your account, so you can turn the text back later.

1. 01Open Apps on the left. The Documents page is the first view.
2. 02Click Upload or drag the files into the window.
3. 03Wait until the document is marked as done, then open it.
4. 04Check the redactions. Select text to anonymize it afterwards; click a placeholder to undo it.
5. 05Choose Download and then Anonymized text. Several finished documents download together via the selection.

For short passages you do not need a file. The bar at the bottom of the Documents page gives you two more tools:

Yes, through the dictionary. There you set terms that are always anonymized, such as a client's name, and terms that are never anonymized, such as the name of your own firm. The lists apply here automatically too.

If a term is set to always anonymize in the dictionary, you cannot undo it individually in the document. Remove it from the dictionary first.
