Gmail
anymize searches your Gmail mailbox, summarizes correspondence and drafts replies that only go out after your approval.

What you can do with it
Instead of searching, you ask. The assistant searches your mailbox, reads the hits and answers in sentences.
Examples from chat
Summarize the mail thread with Frau Berger from the last three weeks. Who has not yet replied to my offer from 3 March? Find the mail with Herrn Özdemir's resignation and tell me the date. Draft a friendly rejection of yesterday's application. Which mails about the Musterstraße matter did I get this week?
- The assistant reads a mail's content only when your question requires it.
- It can fetch attachments into your anymize storage. It also reads PDF and Office files there. You need storage in your plan for that.
- Nothing runs in the background. Without your question nothing is fetched.
Connect
- 01Open Apps, Connectors area, Google Workspace tile.
- 02On the Gmail card, click Connect.
- 03Sign in with Google and confirm the access prompt. We never see your password, only a key you can revoke.
- 04Done. From now on you can ask about your emails in chat.
One sign-in is enough for the whole suite. If you already connected Google for Drive or Calendar, Gmail joins with one click, without a second sign-in.
Does the AI send emails without asking me?
No. There is no way for a mail to go out without your explicit approval. The assistant writes the draft, then an approval card opens in chat with recipient, Cc, Bcc, subject and the full text.
- You can change every field directly in the card, including the body.
- You must tick the box and confirm. A single click is not enough.
- Cancel means: nothing happened, no email.
- Your signature is appended. If none is stored in anymize, Gmail uses your own mailbox signature.
anymize deliberately does not create drafts in Gmail's Drafts folder. We never even requested the right needed for that, so access stays as narrow as possible.
What gets anonymized
An email is almost only personal data: sender, recipients, Cc recipients, subject, body and what is in the attachment. Exactly that is replaced by placeholders before the large AI model gets the summary. "Frau Berger writes about the termination as of 30.06." becomes "[[PERSON_1]] writes about the termination as of [[DATUM_1]]" for the model.
When writing it runs the other way. The draft is created with placeholders; a shielded service in the EU puts the real names and addresses back in just before the approval card. You see the finished text; the model never saw it in clear text. At the recipient the mail arrives normally.
