openDesk projects

• “Which projects do we have running in OpenProject?”
• “Which work packages in the Digitalization project are open?”
• “Summarize work package 4711, with description and status.”
• “Which tasks were last updated?”

The assistant can list the projects, full-text search work packages and fully read a single work package. Without a search term you get the most recently updated open work packages.

• A search can be limited to one project.
• Closed work packages stay out until you expressly ask for them.
• The list names subject, type, status, project, assignee and dates; the full description only comes with the individual work package.

1. 01In OpenProject open your account settings and choose Access tokens.
2. 02Under Provider tokens click + API token, give it a name and confirm with Create.

4. 04If the button is missing, your administration must enable API access under Administration, API and Webhooks.

4. 04If the address differs from projects.your-domain, enter it under “Address differs?”.

No. There is no tool that creates a work package, changes status, comments or assigns someone. The connection reads, and because that is tied to the build, it cannot be opened via a setting either.

Still, quite a bit is useful: a status overview for the weekly round, a draft follow-up question, or a summary of what has happened since the last standing meeting.

Work packages contain names: assignees, authors, often also affected people in the description. These names, plus email addresses, addresses and file references, are replaced by placeholders before the AI model reads the case. In your answer they appear in clear text again.
