openDesk contacts
anymize searches the address books of the Open-Xchange App Suite of your openDesk instance by name, email, phone, role or organization.

What you can do with it
- “Who is our contact for public-procurement law?”
- “How do I reach Ms Weber at the building authority?”
- “Find all contacts at Stadtwerke.”
- “Which extension is stored for Mr Schmidt?”
The search uses name, email, phone number, job title and organization. Without a search term you get a list.
Which credentials do you need for Open-Xchange?
Contacts in openDesk sit, like the calendar, in the Open-Xchange App Suite. anymize needs username and password for the DAV host, usually dav.your-domain.
- 01Use the same login as for the App Suite.
- 02Check that sign-in with a password works, not only via SSO.
- 03The same login also opens the calendar in anymize.
Connect
- 01Open the openDesk dialog and enter your domain.
- 02Turn on the Calendar and contacts section; it opens both areas with one login.
- 03Enter the username and password for Open-Xchange.
- 04If the address differs from dav.your-domain, enter it under “Address differs?”.
The address books come from Open-Xchange, not from the instance's Nextcloud. Anyone who maintains both only sees the Open-Xchange entries here.
Does the AI model get to see our address book?
No. An address book is personal throughout, so anymize replaces names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses and organisations with placeholders before the hit list goes to an AI model. You get the answer back with the real details.
Writing is ruled out here anyway: there is no tool that creates, changes or deletes a contact.
When this is worth it
- The assistant knows the right contact when he drafts a letter for you.
- For an organization he pulls in the matching contacts.
- You no longer need to keep the address book open on the side.
