openDesk files

openDesk storage is a Nextcloud. The assistant has three tools: a search across all folders, listing a folder and reading a single file.

No, search is by file name and the details the store keeps about it. Anyone who wants the content searched names the folder to the assistant or puts the documents in a knowledge base.

• The assistant reads text files directly; long files are shortened.
• PDF, Office documents and images only supply file metadata this way.
• The search returns up to 50 hits; a folder is listed one level deep.

1. 01Open the openDesk dialog and enter your domain, for example behoerde.de.
2. 02Turn on the Files section.
3. 03In the Nextcloud of your openDesk instance, under Personal settings, Security (at the very bottom), create an app password and enter it together with your username.
4. 04If the address differs from files.your-domain, expand “Address differs?” and enter it.

There is no tool for upload, change or delete. The connector sends read requests only.

The text the assistant reads from a file is anonymized first: names of citizens, addresses, file references and bank details are replaced by placeholders before an AI model gets to see them.
